Joey Logano went on an outing recently, and fans were left gobsmacked by his "date night" ride. Logano, a collector of rare cars and a Ford driver in the Cup series, has access to some of Ford’s rarest cars. 

Ford recently launched its 2026 Mustang GTD, the most powerful car from the American automaker. The Mustang GTD debuted in 2023, and the 2026 version, according to Ford’s website, is “Designed to humble. Tuned to Rumble.”

The 22 Penske driver’s 2026 Mustang GTD also featured the number 22 on it and comes in a grey paint scheme and looks mean even when parked. Logano posted a picture of the car parked and wrote, “Tonight’s Date Night Whip,” which was enough to send his fans spiraling. 

Logano’s post on Instagram drew several comments from fans; most were fire emojis in appreciation, while some fans were also left jealous by  Logano’s ‘Whip.’

One fan commented, “A dream for any kid who grew up loving mustangs🔥💨🇺🇸❤️”

Beyond the new Mustang GTD, Logano’s collection features anywhere between 35 and 40 cars. Motorsport reported on the cars in Logano’s garage, and while he has some of his own Penske Ford race cars, a 1924 Ford Model-T, a 1935 Factory Five Ford Pickup, and a 1971 Ford Mach-1 that he calls the Mach 22 are just some cars that stand out. 

Logano’s love for cars is clear, but we aren’t sure whether fans are appreciative of his latest ride or just plain jealous. 

Logano’s new ride gets both love and heat

The only 3-time Cup champ on the NASCAR Cup series grid may not be having a hot time in his Penske Ford Mustang Dark Horse currently, but his latest whip has definitely set socials on fire. 

Comments rolled in on both Instagram and X, with one comment simply reading, “Such a flex."

Another hyped up Logano and wrote, “Looks like dark mode GoGo Logano.”

One fan simply wished the 22 Penske Ford driver the best. “Awesome-looking GTD. Enjoy the date night and that Mustang!

Another Instagram comment read, “I saw a lady on TikTok very confused as to why people were taking pictures of it lol.”

On X, one fan who has previously checked out the car wrote, “You finally drove it. Sweet! Saw one at a dealership here in RI last week. Unbelievable car. Couldn’t believe the size of the brakes and rotors

But of course, where there is love, there is also hate or worry; we aren’t sure exactly where this X comment comes from: “Please don’t wreck it.”

Some even urged that Logano should be driving this instead of his Cup car, but we aren’t really sure which ride suits Joey Logano better on track.
