Joe Gibbs Racing has accused a former director of "a brazen scheme to steal JGR's most sensitive information". Now, a veteran driver is warning that this could be just the beginning.

Former NASCAR driver and brother of Brad Keselowski, Brian Keselowski, gave his perspective on how this lawsuit will affect the future of NASCAR. 

Replying to NASCAR insider and journalist Jordan Bianchi, Brian Keselowski wrote on X: “This is going to become more common because of the nature of this car. It has no special race team-specific parts."

"So that means everyone has the same things to worry about. Extremely more engineering-driven, and easier to copy and paste amongst the field," added Keselowski.

Keselowski, now 44 and long retired from full-time driving, brings unmatched credibility, having navigated the garage's underbelly for decades.

He thinks this lawsuit will soon become a growing trend in NASCAR, as the sport pursues parity after the arrival of the next-gen car in 2022. 

The JGR filed suit against Chris Gabehart after his sudden departure from their team after the 2025 season. While JGR has made some strong accusations against the former director. However, the Defendant has disagreed with all the claims.

“Yesterday afternoon, Joe Gibbs Racing filed a lawsuit claiming—falsely—that I shared JGR confidential information with Spire Motorsports and/or other unnamed third parties," said Gabehart.

"I feel compelled to speak out today and forcefully and emphatically deny these frivolous and retaliatory claims," eh added.

Gabehart claims that JGR denied the opportunity to do a forensic investigation of laptops and Spire Motorsports. 

“I look forward to the opportunity to demonstrate to the Court that I have not shared JGR's confidential information with anyone. In fact, I have already demonstrated that to JGR. "

The lawsuit is just in its initial stages, and trials have yet to start. Regardless, both parties have put forward their claims and allegations.

"A third-party forensic expert retained by JGR recently examined my laptop, cell phone, and personal Google Drive and found no evidence to support the baseless allegations in JGR's lawsuit. We even offered JGR the opportunity to do a similar review of Spire's systems," he explained.
