NASCAR’s new media rights deal in 2025 brought in a huge amount of change in how fans view the sport over the last 2 years. Among the new broadcasting partners is Amazon Prime, which has garnered a positive reception this season. 

Amazon Prime and NASCAR signed a seven-year media rights agreement from 2025 to 2031. Since then, Prime Video has been praised for its broadcasts for being clean and organised by the fans, who have requested more races to be covered on Prime Video. 

During a recent interview with Adam Stern of Sports Business Journal, NASCAR CEO Steve O’Donnell has opened up about the organization regretting not taking up more races.  

"We’ve got contractual obligations obviously, but what I can say -- I don’t think I’m giving away any trade secrets -- is if you talk to Prime, they wish they would have bought more," O’Donnell said. (via Sports Business Journal)

As of the 2026 season, Prime Video broadcasts five Cup races beginning at Charlotte Motor Speedway and ending at San Diego. With the agreement signed and sealed, it looks a little difficult for the broadcaster to get more races this season or the upcoming season. 

Nonetheless, the news about Prime wishing for more races has been met with a lot of positive reception among the NASCAR fans. 

NASCAR fans call for more races on Amazon Prime Video 

Under the post shared by Adam Stern on his X account, many of the fans flooded the comment section as they expressed their delight about the news. One fan commented that NASCAR should give Prime Video the rights to broadcast all the races next season.

They commented, "The next TV deal needs to just be full-season Prime."

Yet another fan humorously called on Jeff Bezos to buy a portion of NASCAR’s schedule to broadcast on Prime. 

"mistah bezos you have infinite money do something for me and buy out Fox’s portion of the schedule," they commented. 

While another fan commented that under Prime Video NASCAR will flourish. They wrote, 

"@SportsonPrime does justice to the sport it treats it with respect and dignity they are the new number one broadcaster in NASCAR...Just make the TNT races Prime races, NBC still does a decent job. The sport will succeed with Prime!"

A fan also criticised the sanctioning body for not being able to give Prime more races until 2031, which is when the contract lapses.

They wrote, "god forbid we do something actually positive for the sport"

Another fan commented that NASCAR should part ways with FOX altogether. They commented, "NASCAR should pay FOX whatever penalty is necessary to jettison their coverage into the Sun and hand it over to Prime."
