Seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson has added yet another milestone to his illustrious career. However, this time the achievement comes far from the racetrack, as Johnson is all set to receive one of Hollywood’s most prestigious honors. 

On Wednesday afternoon, Jimmie Johnson shared the exciting news with NASCAR fans after being named one of the recipients of Hollywood Walk of Fame honors. He uploaded a video to his X account to announce the same. 

"Well, just got wind that I’m going to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Super cool news. What an interesting twist, interesting surprise. Certainly been in and around the stars on the walk, and I can’t believe, you know, I’ll have a star there."

"So, a huge thank you to everyone involved in the process," Johnson said in the video he posted on X. "I think I’m the first race car driver to have a star on the Walk of Fame, and the seventh in the sports category. So, I’m a numbers guy, and number seven keeps following me around. Thank you, everybody."

Johnson is the seventh athlete to receive this honor and will be joining the likes of  Muhammad Ali, David Beckham, Magic Johnson, Terry Bradshaw, Orel Hershiser, and Shaquille O’Neal. He is also the first-ever driver to have been given this honor.

With the honor, Johnson has added yet another achievement to his remarkable career. 

NASCAR Champion reflects on what made him a 'numbers guy'

It all dates back to when the now seven-time NASCAR Champion joined Hendrick Motorsports back in the early 2000s. At the time, he was offered three different numbers available one of them being 23. 

However, Johnson was not so keen on getting that number. Talking about the same on the podcast ' Racin’ with the Boys with Will Compton and Delanie Walker, he explained that he wanted the number 48, which at the time was with HMS co-owner Jeff Gordon. 

"And I saw 48, and then I’m like, well, hey, Jeff, you’re 24 … The 48 and I want to be twice as good as you, you know, just like lobbying. He said, ‘Yeah, that works.’

"You know, we’ll do it in the same font, and that plays. So that was one of the elements coming to life with numbers." Johnson revealed on the podcast. 

Besides seven, 48 is one of the other numbers that the seven-time NASCAR Cup Series Champion considered lucky. And to this day, he has 'this number thing, it’s still going.'
