Alan Gustafson is shutting out the noise following Chase Elliott's recent string of NASCAR victories. As tweeted by Claire B Lang on X, Gustafson, while speaking to the media, shared about relying on a specific philosophy to maintain focus amid mounting outside pressure and criticism.

"I think to steal a quote from David Goggins, 'You'll never find a hater who can do it better than you can.' That's the way I look at it. Look, I do everything I can to help this team be successful and win," he said.

Gustafson's inputs are incredibly important for Elliott and his journey to the top. His mental strength and ability to eradicate negativity have been of great help, something that has been visible twice this season. Here's what Gustafson further added:

"That's what matters to me. When I go to bed at night, I know the effort that I've put in, I know the effort the team has put in, I know the reality. People are always going to have an opinion.

"Unfortunately, I think in a lot of cases there's platforms for people who really don't know what they're talking about that voice their opinion and get people to listen to it."

Elliott and Gustafson first won the Martinsville Speedway race in March, and now, at the recently concluded Wurth 400, Elliott became only the second driver to win multiple races this season after Tyler Reddick.

Having started the race from 14th place, Elliott went on to finish Stage 1 in eighth place. In Stage 2, he took the lead and went on to win the race with a race-best 87 laps led and 0.407 seconds to spare. Denny Hamlin finished the race in second place, ahead of Alex Bowman.

Chase Elliott was in a dilemma on the final restart

“I wasn't really sure whether to go top or bottom,” Elliott said of the final restart. “You know, the bottom had been winning out on a lot of the restarts. I felt like, man, if I didn't get clear off of (Turn 2), I was going to be in a lot of trouble."

“Fortunately, Alex gave me a great push. Was able to execute Turns 1 and 2, get clear, and then just kind of manage the last few laps… Yeah, man, just crazy. You know, to say as much as we struggled out here to have won two races here now in the last few years is pretty wild,” he added.

Tyler Reddick came home in fourth place, and Chris Buescher in fifth to round out the top five. Daniel Suarez, Carson Hocevar, William Byron, Bubba Wallace, and Ryan Blaney completed the Top 10.
