Everyone’s favorite stock car racing content creator and NASCAR hopeful Cleetus McFarland is all set to launch yet another late model event that comes with a handsome prize pool. 

Garrett Mitchell, popularly known as Cleetus McFarland after garnering massive fan attention through his YouTube channel, has announced the first-ever ‘Cleetus McFarland’s Late Model Series.’

A massive $20,000-to-win prize pool has also been announced for the race that will take place over 75 laps at Berlin Raceway. Freedom Factory and Berlin Raceway jointly posted the news on Instagram.

The event is slated for August 15, and there is also a burnout rivals event, meaning fans attending will get to watch burnouts galore as well as the 75-lap race. 

McFarland’s new race will be contested at the Marne, Michigan bullring using the same rules sanctioned by UARA that are applied to his Money in the Bank and Battle at Berlin events. 

The event will come on the back of another event he started, the Michigan 100 Crown Vic Race. And yes, McFarland is expected to compete in both races. 

Matt Weaver, who reported on the announcement for Short Track Scene, used a quote from a conversation with McFarland in March when the YouTuber turned racer hinted about his plans ahead. 

McFarland told Weaver, “We’re already at the track with the Crown Vics, so we might as well run the Late Model too.”

McFarland is attempting to bring out anyone who has a late-model car, and he’s picked up a few for good measure. 

McFarland gets more windshield time with each passing race

Cleetus McFarland doesn’t treat racing as a joke and is serious about making it to the higher NASCAR series. This season he’s been an ARCA regular while having driven two races for Niece Motorsports in the Truck Series. 

McFarland finished 37th in Daytona and then turned up to show that he’s getting better when he finished 25th in Michigan and was the last car on the lead lap despite an early spin. 

At the Talladega Superspeedway, he finished second in the ARCA race after starting in 20th place.

McFarland’s commitment is made clearer with his recent purchase of a Port City Race Cars chassis with plans to make content and run late model races. 

While those plans are clear, the primary reason behind the purchase was to continue developing his race craft and hone his skills. Weaver quoted McFarland as saying, “That’s my current outlook on using them. I’m committed to learning those cars and putting a bunch of races on the schedule.”

McFarland continues to enter the world of motorsport news as he aims to get better behind the wheel to a point where he is allowed to compete at Superspeedways before making bigger jumps across the NASCAR circuit.
