Sweeping three races in a single weekend is one of the rarest achievements in NASCAR. To this date, Kyle Busch remains the only person to have done it twice. While Kyle Larson did come close to achieving the trifecta last year, all eyes now appear to be on Connor Zilisch.

A tweet from Spire Motorsport confirmed the 19-year-old will drive the No. 71 Silverado RST in the Truck Series on May 8 at Watkins Glen International. Trackhouse Racing’s repost further confirmed Zilisch will perform triple duty during the race weekend in New York.

In the recent past, Trackhouse owner Justin Marks has been open about wanting Zilisch to win the trifecta. In the 2025 season, Larson did a triple duty at Bristol, which saw him walk away with the top spots in the Cup and O’Reilly series, but he missed out in the Truck Series by a few milliseconds.

Zilisch's record at Watkins Glen is also good. In his O’Reilly series debut in 2024, he won from pole position. In the same year, he also won the ARCA Menards race, leading nearly every lap. His O’Reilly debut heroics were also repeated in 2025, when the race returned to Watkins Glen.

Zilisch will be joined by Cup Series teammates Shane Van Gisbergen and Ross Chastain, who will also be competing in the Truck Series. However, Gisbergen and Chastain will be driving for Niece Motorsports.

Interestingly enough, even though both SVG and Zilisch are looking to bag their first Truck Series win, the 19-year-old has more experience than his New Zealander teammate. Zilisch currently has eight Truck Series starts to his name, with a best fourth-place finish at his debut in COTA in 2024. More recently, he finished eighth in his last outing with Niece Motorsports.

Will Connor Zilisch’s triple duty at Watkins Glen yield him the rarest achievement in NASCAR and place him beside Kyle Busch? We shall find out soon.

SVG Looks to Win Across All Three Series Too

Shane Van Gisbergen, too, is looking to join the list of racers who have recorded a win in all three divisions of NASCAR. Widely considered as someone who has dominated multiple disciplines of racing, he has three Supercars championship titles, six Cup Series wins, and five O’Reilly Series wins.

However, he is yet to open his account in the Truck Series, where he will race alongside Zilisch and Ross Chastain at Watkins Glen International. Gisbergen currently has one Truck Series start to his name: the Indianapolis Raceway Park in 2023, driving for Niece Motorsports.

After the announcement from Niece regarding SVG’s return to trucks at Watkins, in an official statement, the driver said he was thrilled to be racing trucks once again.

“I'm really excited to have the opportunity to race for Niece Motorsports at Watkins Glen. I raced the truck once back in 2023 at IRP, and it was epic! Happy to be back at one of my favorite tracks. Hopefully, we have a good crack at it.

"Thanks to Niece Motorsports, Circle B Diecast, DQS, J.F. Electric, Chevrolet, and Trackhouse for giving me the opportunity. It's going to be a lot of fun,” he added.
