NASCAR Cup Series driver Daniel Suarez’s wife, Julia Yasmeen Piquet, has found herself in the spotlight. Her recent post on X aimed at Chevrolet drivers has now stirred a debate among fans on social media.

Over the last few weekends, the topic of drivers receiving support from their fellow OEM drivers has become one of the biggest talking points. The conversation resurfaced after Sunday’s Cup Series race in Atlanta, where manufacturer alliances played a big role.

Carson Hocevar (Chevrolet) lost out on a potential win because Bubba Wallace and Christopher Bell (both Toyotas) bump-drafted Ryan Blaney (Ford) in the overtime restart. Though Julia Piquet didn't directly talk about that, she weighed in on the topic in a cryptic manner.

In an X post, she called out the Chevrolet-backed drivers, writing, "I swear Chevys are the absolute worst teammates."

Piquet's comments somewhat echoed Hocevar’s post-race comments in Atlanta. The Spire Motorsports driver spoke about the lack of presence of his fellow Chevrolet-backed drivers towards the end.

"I don't know where the Chevys went, but it was just me. I was all alone," he said in an interview with Frontstretch.

As for Piquet’s post on X, it has caught the attention of several NASCAR fans and sparked a debate.

Under the post put out by Piquet, many fans gave their opinion on the situation. One fan commented that a driver's primary objective is to win rather than to help a driver by sacrificing their own race.

"They get paid to win first. With this track, no time to sit back and help, if you have a run you take it," they wrote.

A fan also commented that a driver from the Chevrolet camp often chooses to race independently, which has proved to be costly. They commented, 

"There’s a certain driver (who shall remain nameless) who Daniel would love to help, but he just seems to think he can do it all by himself.  It works out some of the time, but the lost opportunities are stacking up…"

To this comment, Piquet replied, "I meant Chevys in general, I wasn’t pointing at anyone in particular."

Another fan directly called out Hocevar over the race finish, saying,

"Nah, Carson just act like an idiot."

To this comment, Piquet gave the same response as the one to the other fan, highlighting that she wasn't singling out one particular driver.

A fan agreed with Julia Piquet’s take on Chevrolet drivers and used Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott’s race at Atlanta to support their take. They commented, 

"Facts. Elliott and Larson did nothing but pull out to pass each other all day long."

Although everyone lauds the teamwork between the Toyota camp, Bubba Wallace, after the race, commented about how Toyota drivers "don’t race very well together" after he was penalised for crossing the yellow line due to a push from Ty Gibbs. Referencing this, a fan commented, writing, 

"Not according to Bubba!"
