Jeffrey Earnhardt has publicly addressed speculation surrounding his future in NASCAR. The third-generation racer is actively seeking another opportunity to compete at the highest level after an inconsistent career that has struggled to build long-term momentum.

The update came via a Facebook post shared on the racer’s official Facebook handle by his team, which was further highlighted when renowned NASCAR journalist Joe Srigley shared the same on X. 

An excerpt from the update reads, “Jeffrey wants to be on track racing for wins, and we know what that takes, so that is this years mission. He's absolutely going to be back on track, and when he is, we want to see him have a shot at P1. Hope this note finds his fans happy, healthy, and enjoying a wonderful summer.”

The X post by Srigley also stated that his team is looking to grow his sponsor base, with aspirations of racing for a top team.

Despite carrying one of NASCAR's most famous surnames, Jeffrey Earnhardt has been unable to establish himself as a regular front-runner across the Cup, Xfinity, and Truck Series. Much of his career has been spent with underfunded teams, such as Rick Ware Racing in the Truck Series and JD Motorsports in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. 

That said, Jeffrey had a brief stint with Joe Gibbs Racing in the 2018 Xfinity Series, alongside Denny Hamlin, Riley Herbst, and the late Kyle Busch. He also tasted some success in his stints with Sam Hunt Racing. As of now, he has six top-ten finishes and one pole in his NOAPS career. 

His last Cup Series appearance came in the 2019 Geico 500, driving for XCI Racing. 

Meanwhile, this year, another 'Earnhardt' grabbed attention, and Junior addressed that.

Who is Figgy Earnhardt? 

While we know Jeffrey is the son of Kerry Earnhardt and the nephew of Dale Earnhardt Jr., earlier this year, the internet was buzzing with memes of Figgy Earnhardt, an entirely fictional character who is jokingly alleged to be another son of the late Dale Earnhardt Sr.

Seeing how rapidly the meme got popular, Dale Jr.’s co-hosts on the Dale Jr Download podcast expressed confusion over whether Figgy actually existed. Junior confirmed that there is no such person in his family genealogy but also admitted that the internet is ‘undefeated’, choosing to find the humor in the creativity of fans. 

“I don’t want to ruin this thing for them because, I mean, they’re having a lot of good...they're having a good time with it. If I just said he didn't exist, and it was if I said like ‘Travis, this is dumb’, they’d be like, 'Man, it doesn't, what an a*****.'”
