Transitioning from Trackhouse Racing to Spire Motorsports this season has proved challenging but gratifying for Daniel Suarez. He has shown sparks of brilliance with Spire, including two Top Tens in Atlanta and Darlington.

Though he hasn't been in podium contention so far, like at Trackhouse Racing in the last couple of years, he knows where he stands with Spire in comparison.

"I mean, we have fast cars, right?" Suarez said during the Kansas race weekend (via Frontstretch)."It's much easier when you have fast cars. And we certainly have shown that at Spire Motorsport, most of the time - we still definitely have a lot of work to do to catch up with these guys (points to Bubba Wallace, who walks by) - so definitely we're in a good spot. But we're certainly working hard to be able to be faster."

Following this, the Mexican driver shared an update about his situation. Suarez left Trackhouse Racing at the end of last year, a move that was fueled by a lack of 'chemistry' between the two parties.

"I definitely think that I'm in a better spot," added Daniel Suarez. "Yeah, I mean, I had several conversations with Justin for a long time trying to convince him to do a lot of things in the team, and just things didn't seem to happen. So, I'm glad that finally he's seeing what I told him a while back."

While leaving Justin Marks' Trackhouse Racing, Daniel Suarez shared that the team did not listen to his words in terms of development. As a result, he found a place in Spire and joined the likes of Michael McDowell and Carson Hocevar to drive the #7 car.

No Hard Feelings For Daniel Suarez While Leaving Trackhouse

Daniel Suarez left Trackhouse Racing for Spire Motorsports on a low note after ending a five-year partnership. However, the Mexican driver stated that he had no hard feelings about the move or towards Justin Marks, Ross Chastain, Shane van Gisbergen, or the entire team.

Speaking about the same, the #7 driver said on the eve of his last Trackhouse race in November last year:

"I’m not sad, I’m just excited for what is next. But I’m not like tired of them, no, no, no. It’s just, the cycle was over, you know. You guys have known this for a couple of months, but I have known this for six, eight months. So I’m actually excited for the next team, but there is absolutely no hard feelings at all."

Currently, Daniel Suarez is in 16th place in the Drivers' Standings with 210 points.
