NASCAR is no stranger to NFL crossovers, but a NASCAR and Formula 1 crossover is something rare. The recent collab between Ryan Blaney and George Russell has sent the fans into a frenzy, with some even wondering if this is the beginning of something big.

On Tuesday, WhatsApp released a video on its YouTube channel titled "Farm Friends." In the video, Russell and Blaney visited Ford’s Farm in Homestead, Florida, owned by Michelin-star chef Jeremy Ford. In the video, the two drivers were seen collecting various items from the farm, such as eggs and Ylang-Ylang flowers, and driving the tractor. 

Throughout the episode, the two drivers discussed the similarities and differences between NASCAR and F1. Russell acknowledged the challenges that NASCAR drivers endure on ovals, a track type that F1 doesn't race on. 

"I appreciate all forms of racing, and I know the challenges in everything we do," Russell said. "Obviously, a lot of people for you guys on the ovals just think you're driving circles. And it's so much more technical than that. I definitely appreciate it. I'd love to try it one day." 

Blaney was quick to welcome the idea and went on to suggest a crossover between the two divisions of motorsports. 

"Well, we have to do a crossover, for sure," said Blaney. "I didn't really grow up open-wheel racing at all, but I love road racing. It was a big thing for me to learn when I got into NASCAR because we do that quite a bit, and it's something I didn't really grow up doing." 

As mentioned by Blaney, he grew up on dirt tracks due to his grandfather, Lou Blaney, who was a Sprint car dirt track champion. 

However, this crossover between NASCAR and F1 has fans buzzing with excitement all over social media. 

Fans Voice Their Excitement About the Blaney-Russell Collab

In a post shared by a NASCAR fan on their Reddit account, fans could not contain their excitement about the collaboration, as one wrote, "That is a collaboration I did not see coming at all."

Yet another fan wrote, "Man, I love when different series collaborate. Wish it happened more."

While a fan of both F1 and NASCAR expressed how they wanted more of these collaborations. They wrote:

"⁠I want more of this immediately before even watching lol I love both series."

A fan wrote, "⁠I cannot imagine George Russell on a farm lol". Unlike other drivers in the pinnacle of motorsports, Russell had humble beginnings as he grew up on his family's farm. He spoke about the same in the aforementioned video.

While another fan took a jab at the Mercedes driver for wearing his team gear even on the farm, the positive sentiment remained.

"⁠My Gawd, George just loose the Merc t shirt for a while, u r on a farm, not a trip to the garage. But great Collab Though," they wrote.
