Chevrolet usually has one of the most recognizable cars in NASCAR. This weekend in Coronado, San Diego, Kyle Larson was seen driving a car that looked quite similar to a Dodge, sparking a round of mockery and comparisons on social media. 

On Friday, Larson was spotted doing burnouts on the deck of the USS Midway as part of the announcement that the Hendrick Motorsports driver was the face of the new NASCAR 26 game, which will be out in September this year.

However, the burnout was not in his regular HMS Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, which he drives in the Cup Series. Fans were quick to notice the difference as one fan took to his social media and posted a picture of the car with the caption:

"Cursed"

The car looked different from the one he competes in, as it sported a different front and rear lighting design. Along with this, the Chevrolet also featured slim headlights with accent bars and a narrow upper grille. Another noticeable detail was the taillights, as the inside one was bigger compared to the outside.

Per American Cars and Racing, the car was a two-seater demonstrator owned by NASCAR. While Hendrick Motorsports hasn't publicly confirmed if this is the car they will use for the upcoming season, this did not stop the fans from making interesting theories.

NASCAR fans react to Chevrolet’s burnout car at San Diego

Several fans took to the comment section of the X post to give their opinions on the car. One fan wrote:

"That better not be the new body for next year. What the flying f*** is THAT? Dodge Charger wannabe. Maybe if Chevy did not drop the Camaro to begin with we would not have cursed c*** like this."

Dodge has been trying to enter NASCAR as the fourth manufacturer. The similarities between the two cars left a fan to speculate that this was NASCAR’s way of hinting at the new manufacturer's entry, as they wrote:

"Dodge Cup Car soft launch tease by NASCAR?"

Meanwhile, another fan speculated whether this was the new Chevrolet body for the upcoming season. They wrote:

"Hold the f*** up is this the new Chevy body"

Yet another fan mocked the car body, writing, "Five inches off the ground Temu car”

One user correctly observed that the car used by Kyle Larson to perform the burnouts was one of NASCAR’s show cars. They wrote:

“Good thing to zoom in & see it’s a body wrapped over. One of those NASCAR Neutral show cars pretty much. Thatre cursed as f***."
