Emotional Support Pours In for Brexton Busch As He Returns to Racing Days After Father’s Tragic Passing
Brexton Busch has returned to the racing track less than two weeks after the passing of his father, Kyle Busch, continuing one of NASCAR’s most affluent racing families.
The 11-year-old returned to Charlotte Motor Speedway this week as he took part in a shakedown session ahead of the Cook Out Summer Shootout. What is more interesting is that this shootout is one of the biggest grassroots racing series in the country.
Charlotte is the same track where Brexton has built his young racing career. He is already one of the most accomplished young racers in America.
This young prodigy enters this year with more than 150 career victories and a Tulsa Shootout championship to his name. He has already enjoyed excellent success in Bandolero and Legend Car competition here at Charlotte.
Fans have now flooded social media with messages encouraging the return of Brexton, delighted to see him back behind the wheel.
For a lot of us, his return did not signify just another racing comeback; it was rather the personification of Kyle’s efforts that he spent years building.
The elder Busch had spent a lot of time traveling with his young son to races, coaching him, and openly wishing for Brexton to follow the family’s racing legacy, and it was this exact thing that fans loved.
Fans rally around Brexton Busch as he returns to racing
Brexton Busch’s return to racing was emotional for a lot of fans. Supporters just flooded the post with words of encouragement, praying that the focus would remain on his abilities rather than on the tragedy he endured.
One fan wrote, “I hope everyone leaves him alone and lets him race and doesn't bombard him with dumb questions. Get it kid!”
Another added, “I'm glad he's back. Racing would be a great way to find a way to move forward for him. But I just hope that whatever he does, he is happy.”
The timing of Brexton’s return was also sentimental for many. One supporter added, “Wow! The service was today for Kyle. I hope he is finding time to truly grieve.”
Others looked toward the future, with one fan writing, “Keelan vs. Brexton vs. Owen will be absolute cinema.” This excitement from the fan comes from the fact that all three young racers - Keelan, Brexton and Owen - are turning into standout talents like their fathers. So, a rivalry in the future is definitely something fans would love to see.
Another rallied behind the young racer by saying, “C'mon B-Rex win it like Kyle did.”
Together, one thing was pretty clear. Everyone admired Brexton’s strength as well as the excitement for this young racer’s future. If he truly follows Kyle’s footsteps, we may be looking at the rise of another fine racing prodigy.
