"Enough is Enough": "Fans Pour Cold Water on Greg Biffle Ally’s NASCAR Dream
The late NASCAR legend Greg Biffle’s friend Cleetus McFarland just secured his first top five at the ARCA Menards Series East race at Rockingham.
The YouTuber-turned-racing driver did not forget to honour Biffle, one of NASCAR’s legends who mentored McFarland before his tragic demise in December 2025.
“Honestly, I just went out there and turned left for Greg Biffle,” McFarland said in a post-race interview. "I think he'd be happy I didn't do anything stupid. Biff didn't teach me dumb stuff, so I didn't do any dumb stuff today. I tried to use everything he's ever taught me.”
Cleetus McFarland qualified in seventh place, and he quickly made up places to finish in fourth place.
This result came right before his debut at the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race, where he qualified in 35th place and finished 32nd.
After the races, questions about his ability to potentially race in a Cup Series race began to be raised. However, fans have had their say, and it looks like spectators are not too keen to see McFarland in the Cup Series.
Fans slam the idea of seeing McFarland in the Cup Series
Although he finished Rockingham in 32nd place, there were quite a few hiccups during the race. While a finish in itself is commendable for someone with very little experience, fans do not think he has the experience to race in the Cup Series.
“Enough is enough. He doesn't have near enough experience for the Cup series!!" a user said.
While another fan commented, “April Fools Day was 4 days ago."
A user completely pushed the idea away by saying, "It's just a publicity stunt to have him around. He hasn't earned anything.”
There were fans of McFarland who believed he needed to gain more experience to be able to race at higher levels.
“I love Cleets content, but I hope not. I’d be more interested in watching him develop in a late model and ARCA," a user said.
Another fan wrote, “Man, I hope not. I love Cleetus, and I was 100% on board with him in the NOAPS race, but the cup is different. There is a standard that needs to be upheld there. But Thats just my opinion. I hope he does well in everything he attempts though!”
