Fans pumped as Spire Motorsports' 16-YO phenom set to make NASCAR debut
NASCAR is all set to welcome yet another young talent as Spire Motorsports driver Tristan McKee is set to make his Truck Series debut. The announcement has been met with a lot of excitement from the fans.
On Thursday, July 30, Spire Motorsports announced that its Ascent Driver Development Program driver McKee will be graduating to the Truck Series for the remainder of the 2026 season. He will be driving the No. 77 Chevrolet Silverado.
McKee became the youngest winner in CARS Tour history when he won the 2023 Pro Late Model feature race at Dillon Motor Speedway in South Carolina at just 12 years old. He also won at his debut race in the ARCA series at Watkins Glen. McKee sits in second place in the ARCA East series Championship.
Following the announcement, McKee expressed his excitement and gratitude for the opportunity.
"This is a huge step in my career, and I’m incredibly thankful for the opportunity to drive for Spire Motorsports in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series," McKee said in a team release via the Spire Motorsports website.

The youngster will compete at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (August 22), Bristol Motor Speedway (September 17), Phoenix Raceway (October 16) and Martinsville Speedway (October 30) and will compete at tracks that are 1.25 miles in length or smaller due to his age.

Under the post uploaded by Spire Motorsports on their X account announcing McKee’s debut, many fans expressed their delight.
One fan commented, expressing their excitement. They commented,
"Let Spire COOK!"
Another fan was already excited for McKee’s future. They commented,
"LESSS GOOOO Love this kid Him & Max Reeves will be a Generational Rivalry (And once again Spire Vs JGR)"
Besides being the youngest driver to debut in the Truck Series, a fan pointed out another milestone McKee’s debut will mark. They wrote,
"first driver born in the 2010s decade to race in one of the big 3 divisions"
A fan recalled watching Tristan McKee grow up. They commented,
"He sure has grown up since I used to watch him ride his bike in the neighborhood Super congratulations to @TristanMckee_ you have earned it sir good luck see you at the track soon."
Amidst all the praises and congratulatory messages for McKee, one fan turned the attention towards another Spire Motorsports driver, Lanie Buice. They wrote,
"What about lanie buice she also is very talented driver is she getting truck starts in 2026?"
