For years, Roush Performance and Ford have been synonymous not just in NASCAR but across the automotive world. So when the long-time Ford partner teased a collaboration with Ram, it raised a lot of eyebrows. 

Ford and Roush Performance are known for their high-performance trucks, such as Mustangs and F-Series trucks. Beyond this, over the years, Roush Racing (known as RFK Racing) has also been backed by Ford. 

However, on Monday, June 22, the Automotive company posted a picture of what looks like the silhouette of a truck with the two logos of Roush and Ram on its Instagram page.

"It's going to be a rowdy, all-American summer us," read the caption of the post.

While very little is known about the collaboration between the two companies, according to Motor1.com, the new truck could be an upgraded version of the already existing Roush 1500 TRX SRT or RHO. 

Some fans have started speculating that the truck might be more of an off-roading truck rather than a street truck. This comes mostly after some observed the height of the truck to be a little higher than the Ram 1500, which is a street truck. 

Over the years, the founder of Roush Racing, Jack Roush, has been known for being a pioneer in automotive performance and racing. And this alliance seems to be more about expanding their performance and not turning their back completely on Ford. 

While Roush Performance has been making headlines away from the track, its NASCAR racing team has been making its presence known in the Cup Series as Chris Buescher put up a notable performance. 

Chris Buescher delivers a strong weekend for Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing

The No. 17 RFK driver, Buescher, has been one of the most consistent drivers on the team. So far this season, he has managed to get two top fives and nine top tens. 

This weekend at the Cup race in San Diego, Buescher scored another top 10 finish for the team. He had started the race in 16th and momentarily dropped out of the top 20 in the first stage. But he climbed back to third by the second stage. He eventually settled in sixth place. 

In a post-race statement recapping his weekend at the Naval Base, he shared his take.

“ We got in the race, and we just started driving through the field. It was so much fun. I’d take this Body Guard by Fastenal Ford Mustang and do that every time we had cycles, and it was just a really strong day," he said (via RFK Racing). "It’s just that last caution wasn’t what we needed. We needed it about eight laps later, and we would have been in a heck of a spot. That’s how it falls.”

Besides finishing in the top 10, Buescher had another piece of news to celebrate, and that was his contract extension with the team. Earlier this weekend, Buescher announced that he will stay with the Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing team, signing a multi-year contract extension. 

With a top-ten finish and announcing a new collaboration, it seemed to be a positive weekend for the Roush camp.
