FOX Broadcasters Clint Bowyer, Jamie McMurray Confirm NASCAR Return
Renowned FOX broadcasters, Clint Bowyer and Jamie McMurray, are all set to return to their racing roots. The duo will make their NASCAR comebacks this season in the Truck Series.
The former drivers will race for Kaulig Racing, and one can expect them to deliver, given their experiences. Bowyer will compete in the 200-lap ECOSAVE 200 at the 1-mile Dover Motor Speedway on May 15.
He will pilot the No. 25 Kaulig RAM Truck, the one driven by Tony Stewart at the start of the season. Bowyer comes with an experience of 541 Cup Series races, 181 in the O'Reilly Series, and 15 Truck Series races. His last of three Truck wins came at Kansas in 2011, nine years before his eventual retirement from NASCAR.
McMurray, on the other hand, will drive in the same Truck at San Diego on June 19th. The race is set to take place at Naval Base Coronado, and will be contested over 50 laps for 170 miles.
Jamie McMurray also comes with credible NASCAR experience: 584 Cup starts in over 19 years, and 215 combined O'Reilly Auto Parts and Truck Series races. He has only one Truck victory to his name, which came at Martinsville in 2004.
Bowyer and McMurrary Shared Thoughts Ahead of NASCAR Return
Ahead of his race at Dover this season, Clint Bowyer let his feelings about his comeback be known. Speaking about the opportunity and how he is excited to be a part of Kaulig and RAM's Free Agent program, Bowyer said:
"I’m pumped to get back in a truck, especially one with Ram power behind it. Dover is a beast — concrete, tight, and unforgiving — and I plan to put this No. 25 Ram Free Agent truck right up front where it belongs."
McMurray, speaking about his San Diego opportunity, said, "Racing on a naval base in San Diego for the very first time is going to be an incredible experience. Street courses reward precision and adaptability, and I’m looking forward to teaming with Kaulig and Ram to make some history in that No. 25 truck."
Besides Tony Stewart, the No. 25 Truck has featured numerous high-profile drivers, such as IMSA champion Colin Braun, veteran racers Corey LaJoie, Ty Dillon, Parker Kligerman, and Carson Ferguson, among others.
