FOX Sports made a sudden change to its NASCAR broadcast team during the recent race weekend. The substitution of veteran reporter Jamie Little triggered a wave of reactions from a fan base known for its critical stance.

This time, Eric Brennan’s stint in the commentary booth, as well as the note that he finished the race on, has fans going gaga. Brennan signed off NASCAR’s coverage at the end of the Truck Series race at Charlotte by saying, “And (Kyle Busch), if you’re watching, we’re hoping you can take one more bow.”

Fans let out their opinions, and the heaps of praise pouring in for Brennan are unreal. A fan wrote, “No disrespect for Jamie Little, but Eric Brennan showed that he should be in that booth every week. The truck broadcast was SO MUCH better today than it has been in a long time. Jamie has shown her talent is on pit road. Keep her there and elevate the full product.”

Little, who has become a permanent fixture in the Truck series broadcast, was off doing her duties at the Indy 500. Brennan received praise for taking the lead in the booth.

One wrote, “He's too efficient. Called out the 2 trucks blowing up 10 seconds before FOX's cameras could find it. He makes the FOX production team look amateur in comparison.”

Fans call for FOX to make Brennan Permanent

This is one time we have seen fans calling for FOX to make someone permanent instead of asking for a particular broadcaster to be removed. As of now, Brennan is serving in the booth on a rotational basis. 

His efforts at Charlotte were met with positive reactions. One fan wrote, “Eric Brennan >>>> Jamie Little!!!! PUT HIM IN THE TRUCK BOOTH FOREVER ON SITE OR NOT!!!! He Guided This Perfectly With Open Arms That Right There The Kyle Busch Tribute Just Got Him The Truck Job Full Time ASAP!!!!!!”

The race weekend at Charlotte is always an emotional one, being a race to remember the sacrifices of those who gave their lives fighting for the country. But the 2026 weekend was on a whole different level emotionally, with the entire NASCAR world reeling from the sudden demise of Kyle Busch. 

Handling a race like that on commentary while seeing the car Busch drove to Victory Lane last week in Dover get airborne in Charlotte is an even more difficult job to handle, especially for someone performing rotational duties.

“Thank God Jamie Little had Indy 500 today to attend, and we got to enjoy Brennan and see why he is miles ahead of both the trucks & cup booth. Just put him with a analytical guy and a composed jester like Parker, and we are good to go,” wrote a fan on X in support of Brennan.
