“He still feels close”: Samantha Busch admits bittersweet feelings over husband Kyle’s project
Samantha Busch shared an emotional update with fans, reflecting on the memories tied to a garden she and her late husband, Kyle Busch, built together.
What began as one of her favorite hobbies gradually became a shared passion, with every corner of the space now serving as a reminder of the life they were still creating as a family.
In a post on Instagram, Samantha looked back on Kyle’s efforts in the garden. She recalled that, in typical fashion, he approached every task wholeheartedly, even spending days installing a fully automated irrigation system to make sure everything would thrive.
"He hung the glass hearts we’d collected over the years from our trips to Mexico and decided he knew exactly how to prune the tomato plants for maximum growth after watching one reel," she wrote in the caption.
While every plant reminds Samantha of the future they had envisioned together, she acknowledged the bittersweet reality that Kyle is no longer there to enjoy the harvest. Even so, she said that being surrounded by the garden they planted and built together brings her comfort, adding that each visit somehow makes it feel as though ‘he still feels close’.
The garden took on an even deeper meaning after Kyle’s passing.
"Those first days after he passed, I’d come out here alone. I’d talk to him. I’d pray to God. I’d cry until I didn’t have any tears left," she mentioned.
Over time, however, the space has transformed from one of grief into one of remembrance. She now visits the garden with their children, where they pick vegetables together, dig in the dirt, and share stories about how their father would come outside to inspect everything ‘like he'd been farming his whole life.’
Meanwhile, Brexton is getting lots of support from fans for his recent performance.
Brexton Busch’s 2nd place finish in a Legends series race
Widely regarded as one of the brightest young talents in grassroots racing, the son of Samantha and Kyle Busch delivered an impressive performance this week, charging from 11th on the starting grid to finish second in a Legends car feature.
He shared a video on X soon after the race, talking about his performance. The post read, “11th to 2nd last night!! Just need to qualify up front to give myself a better opportunity to win."
This prompted NASCAR fans and Kyle Busch fans to flood the comments section with supportive messages, not only praising his performance but also pointing out similarities between Brexton and Kyle.
While congratulating him, a user also added a word for Samantha, saying, “Keep up the awesome work, Brexton, dad’s watching you every move you make, and I’m sure he’s very proud of you. Take care of mom. I like where you’re saying; just keep up the good work. You’re doing so awesome. We’re all so proud of you.”
Another user added, “Good job Brexton! You are the best out there & don’t forget that. It is just a matter of when you win. We are watching you do this, your daddy is proud of you buddy.”
