Justin Allgaier bagged his third Gibson guitar with his NOAPS win at Nashville Speedway, his fourth win this season, keeping him safely atop the leaderboard going into the Chase. But the post-race questions weren't just about his win.

Turning 40 next week, Allgaier is in his 17th NOAPS season. The No. 7 JR Motorsports driver is already the title favorite. But as age catches up, what stage is Allgaier at exactly?

“I can’t answer that question,” said Allgaier when asked about his future.

“There’s a lot of factors that for me kind of weighed in on my decision of what 2027 and what the future looks like. If you asked Campbell in January, he would tell you that it was 100 percent that I was retiring. Actually, 105 percent.”

Allgaier has already bought a house in Illinois, so that shows how seriously he could be considering life post-racing. About the purchase, he said,

"So the neighbours are still super confused as to what’s going on. I don’t know what the future looks like. What I know is that I’m having probably the most fun I’ve ever had in my entire career right now. And not just because we’re winning, but I’m having fun. "

Allgaier beat Brent Crews to get his second consecutive win at Nashville Superspeedway, backing up his first win at the 1.33-mile track in 2022.

He elaborated that he is currently in a place where he is enjoying every part of the process and the people he is working with as well. He did admit that, despite not having an answer, he can tell us what the changes are in seeing him next season.

“We’re working through that, but I would say today, you’ll probably see me. There’s a higher likelihood of you seeing me next year than there isn’t.”

After a reporter pushed about the house, Allgaier said, “You can always sell the house.”

Nashville has always been a happy hunting ground for Dale Jr.’s veteran driver. With his third win at the track and leading the championship with 8 races to the Chase, Allgaier, who won the championship with JRM in 2024, will try to repeat that same feat. 

Speaking about his love for Nashville, the race winner said, “This team right here, they’re incredible. Rick Brandt standing here. To win in Nashville, you fans, this pace is electric. I love coming to Nashville. I saw Brent struggling at the green flag pit stop, and I knew we had a car that was capable of getting there.” 

With a break coming up before the last few races in the regular season, Allgaier, who got to four wins, the fastest he has in his career, said, “Wins are wins, and they are underrated. What it means to this team, the organization, everybody, Chevrolet, the Hendrick in the shop, all our partners…Just so proud of this team and wins are understated.”

Allgaier’s first two Gibson guitars were taken by his children. When asked if they would get this one too, Allgaier said, “Willow got the last one, so maybe this one’s mine. It is red, so this one’s mine. I’m gonna learn how to play guitar on this one.”

Allgaier’s season has surely been dominant, and Dale Jr. certainly wouldn’t want his veteran to leave. But no matter what decision Allgaier makes after the season, he will have Junior's support.

"I want to support him cause he’s been so incredible for me and a great friend. I just want him to be happy,” Dale Jr spoke after his Nashville win on Sunday.
