Since 2018, no driver has won NASCAR's Most Popular Award other than Chase Elliott. While fans absolutely love him, some argue that his quiet demeanor doesn’t really provide them with entertainment.

Elliott is known to be reserved, and that has often led to the conclusion that he is "the most boring man on earth". That was the phrase used by a fan in an X post that he reacted to in 2021. Instead of being angry at the label, he thanked the person for it.

While many other drivers are constantly using social media to engage with fans, Elliott likes to keep to himself.  When the No. 9 Hendrick Motorsport driver recently appeared on the "Bussin with the Boys" podcast, he was asked about why he prefers to keep his life so private.

"I have a good group of friends around home, and I feel like my circle's pretty small in general," Elliott said on the podcast. "I wouldn't say I'm like super shy per se, but I just choose not to put everything I do on blast out there. It's not like I'm trying to be any certain way. It's just a little bit of how I am."

Elliott said that he is not just someone who would go around posting updates during his day or be chronically online, letting social media know how he’s feeling.

The questions arose because drivers like Ryan Blaney, who had been on the podcast, had told the hosts that Elliott is quite tight-lipped and very hard to get any sort of talk out of. Elliott initially laughed it off and said,

"I don't know why they give me such a hard time. Especially Ryan. We're pretty good friends. So I don't know. I don't feel like I'm that complex. I don't know why this is being assumed towards me."

Chase Elliott is pulling a rare quadruple duty at North Wilkesboro, where he’s already completed three races ahead of the Cup race on Sunday.

On Friday, Elliott took part in the Late Model Stock Car in the No. 8 and in the Pro-Late Model race in the ZMax Cars Tour, where he finished 14th in both races.

On Saturday, Elliott drove the No. 7 Spire Motorsport Chevrolet Truck to seventh, having taken over responsibility for the car on one of the weekends that Kyle Busch was supposed to drive in the Craftsman Truck Series. 

Elliott now has the most windshield time on a track, which returns to NASCAR for a points race for the first time since 1996. He will hope that all the prep across the weekend puts him in good stead when the green flag drops on Sunday.
