Lewis Hamilton is taking stock after a Monza weekend that didn't go to plan. Between a result that leaves him reflecting on his position in the standings and Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc's crash during the race, the seven-time champion has shared his thoughts as the championship moves into its final stretch. 

On Monday, Lewis Hamilton posted on Instagram, reflecting on his second race at Monza in red. The carousel included him greeting fans after the race, a moment at the fan stage, him talking with his team in the garage, and a close-up of the car's nose featuring the Schumacher tribute livery stars. 

Alongside the pictures and videos, Hamilton penned a caption reflecting on the support he and the team received while also addressing the rough race they had. 

"Grazie Tifosi," Hamilton wrote in the caption of his Instagram post. "We gave it everything but unfortunately it wasn’t enough. Through it all, the support the entire week has been incredible. I’m always in awe of the amount of passion and love we receive. It means so much to me and to the team."

He also expressed relief about his teammate Charles Leclerc being okay after he suffered a 60 G-force crash on Lap 2 of the race. 

"We share that passion with you and we will keep pushing together to come back from this. I’m glad to see that Charles is ok, we’re committed to progress and greatness and will continue to give it everything we can to deliver the results you all deserve. Vi amo tutti 🇮🇹."

Hamilton's race got off to a rocky start with contact with Leclerc at the opening chicane, sending him through the gravel and costing him positions.

A red flag caused by Leclerc’s crash on Lap 2 further disrupted the afternoon, but Hamilton fought back to finish sixth, salvaging some points for Ferrari on a tough home weekend. 

Hamilton now sits third in the drivers' championship with 191 points, 76 behind runaway leader Kimi Antonelli, while Leclerc slipped to fifth on 155 after failing to score at Monza.

With several races remaining, Ferrari will be looking to bounce back before the gap grows any further. 

Lewis Hamilton admits ' it is too late' for Ferrari to prioritize him over Charles Leclerc 

 Lewis Hamilton didn't hold back when discussing Ferrari's title hopes after a bruising weekend at Monza left him further behind in the standings. 

Hamilton, who was level on points with Russell heading into the race, is now 10 points behind his former Mercedes teammate and 76 adrift of leader Antonelli after Ferrari's difficult weekend in Italy. 

"I think from today, we've just lost so much ground to [Mercedes] on points," Hamilton said as reported by BBC Sports. "It's far too late for those decisions to come. It's too late. All I can do is just try and turn up. I'll get up tomorrow morning and I'll give it my best." 

However, Hamilton did not rule out a come back. 

"It's never over until it's over. I don't know how many points it is now, but I'm sure it's 60, 70. It's an amount that, with the pace that they have, it's a very, very difficult amount to close out." 

The comments echo frustration from last month's Dutch Grand Prix, where Hamilton felt Ferrari was too slow to move Leclerc aside. Monza appears to have only deepened those concerns.
