Jamie Little has been an ever-present figure on track, before and after races, often interviewing race winners and team owners. Denny Hamlin, Joey Logano, and Kyle Larson all feature on her list, and so do influential figures like Joe Gibbs and Michael Jordan. But she has had the unique honor of interviewing a sitting American President. 

And she did it not once, not twice, but thrice. Little interviewed Donald Trump for FOX, once in 2020 and once in 2025, both times when he was the President of the USA. The interviews occurred on the field of Daytona, home to “The Great American Race.” She also claims to have interviewed him once when he wasn't President.

Little was recently speaking to John Roberts on a podcast when Roberts asked her about the experience and what the buildup was like.

Little said, “The first time my boss called and said, 'The President’s going to be there, and they want you to do the interview. Are you okay with that?' I’m like, 'Yeah, that's great.' I mean, I don’t care. Politics isn’t my jam, racing is my jam, and if you’re going to have the leader of the free world there and they wanna talk, heck yeah, I’ll do it.”

While the interview itself went smoothly without a hitch, Little was put through a thorough background check as well as a briefing from the Secret Service. She was told she would get a call from the White House.

“Sure enough, I’m telling you, I was in my hotel room, and my phone ranga and it said White House. I’m like, that's great…. Of course, they know your background already and all those things, but I had to go through a process, I had to get a special pin, I had to meet with the Secret Service the night before, and this pin allowed all the Secret Service that there I was able to get within arm's reach of him.”

While that was her first experience, in 2025, she said she didn’t have to go through all of that. “It was crazy, I didn’t get any direction. I was just kind of told where he’s going to be, where we’re going to meet. And I’m like, how do you guys know when I’m coming? And they’re like, we know exactly what you’re wearing.”

Little Recalls Off-Camera Trump Compliment

Little, who has been present in various roles as a broadcaster, be it on pit road or calling the on-track action during the Xfinity Series while she dons those hats brilliantly, few could boast of having interviewed Donald Trump thrice. 

The broadcaster spoke about an off-air interaction with Trump.

“It was wild. But the President, you see his personality. That’s how he was with me, how he’s been. I’ve actually interviewed him three times, one time not being President, and he’s been lovely.”

Little mentioned what Trump told her, “He’s like, ‘We were flying around in Air Force One, and we’re watching you on TV, you do a great job.’”

Imagine having an interaction with the head of state who compliments you on your work; that’s recognition of the highest order.
