Trackhouse Racing has quickly established itself as one of NASCAR’s most ambitious teams. From expanding to three charters to now building a multimillion-dollar facility that could be as big as Rick Hendricks, Justin Marks continues to push the team and has now revealed its latest project. 

After Marks took over Chip Ganassi Racing’s single-car operation back in 2021, he has expanded the team to a three-car operation. He also launched Project 91, which opened the door to drivers across motorsports to drive in NASCAR, one of the most recent ones being former Formula One driver Kevin Magnussen. 

And now, according to a report by Charlotte Business Journal, tweeted by Adam Stern, Trackhouse Entertainment Group is all set to build a new racing facility in Kannapolis, North Carolina. The Kannapolis City Council has approved a 20-acre plot of land along the Davidson Highway for the same.

Further details in the report put out by Charlotte Business Journal revealed that the facility will house research and development, maintenance, and training operations.

However, the project remains in its early stages, with no official timeline released for construction or completion. Details about when the construction will begin and how long it could take have also not been disclosed, but this small step of acquiring the approval marks an important step before the development can move forward to zoning, planning, permitting, and eventual construction. 

Not just that, with the facility being built in the heart of North Carolina, Trackhouse Racing will now rival NASCAR’s other powerhouses, such as Richard Childress Racing, Hendrick Motorsports, and several others. 

Among them, Hendrick Motorsports' 430,000-square-foot multi-million-dollar headquarters has been considered a benchmark for a long time.

Hendrick Motorsports continues to raise NASCAR’s standard with its expanded headquarters

The Hendrick Motorsports team owns one of the biggest NASCAR headquarters in Concord, North Carolina. The headquarters was estimated to be nearly  $65–$70 million, and just earlier this season, the team expanded its facility with its latest sponsor. 

Coming into the 2026 season, the Rick Hendrick-owned NASCAR team secured a sponsorship with Atrium Health, which operates hospitals, urgent care centers, primary care clinics, and speciality medical facilities and is known for major programs in cardiology, oncology, and trauma care. 

The brand has provided the team with state-of-the-art recovery devices, a nutrition station, and a full-time athletic trainer and physical therapist to help the crew and the drivers in their training and recovery sessions. 

In the press release put out by Hendrick Motorsports, the team owner said, 

"People are the foundation of our organization, and supporting their health and performance is essential to our success. Our new partnership with Atrium Health brings best-in-class clinical and performance resources directly to our campus. There’s no facility like this in the world of auto racing. It’s a game changer," Hendrick stated.

Following the footsteps of Rick Hendrick, Justin Marks also continues to invest in infrastructure and technology to help the teams maximize their performance at the highest level of NASCAR.
