The NASCAR Hall of Fame class of 2027 voting wrapped up on Tuesday. The panel has made its decision for the same. 

A voting panel consisting of 50 members made their pick, and the fan votes were combined to make it into one vote. Kevin Harvick, a 60 Cup Series winner, led the class of 2027. 

"A recent run of ballots has had at least one Hall of Fame shoo-in, and this year’s layup is Harvick," NASCAR.com reported. "Harvick’s authoritative voice as a broadcaster, his means of giving back to the sport and his role in keeping Richard Childress Racing and the sport’s fan base going after the death of Dale Earnhardt in 2001 mean everything."

Harvick appeared on 46 out of the 50 ballots, which means he was elected into the Hall of Fame with 92% modern era ballots. He was shy of just four more votes to make him the unanimous first ballot Hall of Famer. 

The FOX Sports analyst met with the media post announcement, where he spoke about how he felt.

"Everybody’s career ultimately comes to an end, and the things that you do are what they were, and so to be able to have accomplished enough to be standing here today," Harvick said. "I feel pretty fortunate because I had a lot of good people, a lot of good cars, and a lot of great moments to be able to have the success that we did.”  

Kevin Harvick has had 60 wins and ranks fifth all-time in top-10 finishes with 444.  The 2027 Hall of Fame inductee also won the O’Reilly series title in 2001 and 2006. 

“It's quite an honor to be able to stand in here and have your name next to so many of the greats in our sport," Harvick added. 

Harvick will be inducted into the Hall of Fame next year on January 22 alongside his former teammate, RCR teammate Jeff Burton, and the Midwest short track pioneer, Larry Phillips.

While Lesa Kennedy will be bestowed with the landmark award for her contribution to the sport. 

Kevin Harvick’s Contribution Beyond the Track

After the death of the 7-time Cup Series champion, Dale Earnhardt, RCR announced that Harvick would take over the now renumbered No 29 car.

His early debut raised eyebrows, making fans question if he belonged there. Harvick answered early doubts by winning at Atlanta in just his third Cup start.

After he hung up his racing gloves, Harvick and his wife, DeLana, started Kevin Harvick Inc, which manages drivers from the O’Reilly and Truck Series. He is also the co-owner of the CARS Tour. 

From stepping into the big shoes of Dale Earnhardt Sr. to etching his name among the sport's greatest drivers in the NASCAR Hall of Fame, Kevin Harvick has come a long way.
