"Kind of give back and re-share"- Lando Norris on why he is setting junior teams for future F1 stars

Lando Norris has spent years climbing up the Formula One ladder, turning himself from a promising youngster into a Formula One champion. Now years removed from those early days, he is looking at the sport from a different perspective.

On September 2nd, Norris launched LN4 Fusion- a single-seater racing team that will compete in Formula 4, Formula 3, and Formula 2 - as well as the separate LN4 Legacy Programme.

Having climbed those same ranks himself, he's now using his platform to make that path a little easier for the next generation. During an exclusive interview with BBC Sport, the 2025 World Champion was questioned about why he wanted to go ahead with the project.

"I have the amazing opportunity to use the bonuses of what was my dream, use the people that I've met, the teams that I've been with and kind of all put it into a big bowl and try and help kind of give back and re-share it with other people and help other people achieve their dream," Norris told BBC Sport during the interview.

He further spoke about why he wanted to create the opportunities for others that he once had himself.

"And that's something that almost excites me just as much as saying I wanted to achieve it myself, you know, over the last few years."

The No. 4 driver also spoke about what the LN4 Fusion project means to him personally.

"So the fact I can help other people out, that's something I think that's just a beautiful thing in life when you get to do it. And especially if I can do it within the world of motorsport."

With LN4 Fusion now up and running, Norris's focus shifts from his own career to the drivers coming up behind him, a new chapter that extends his influence beyond the cockpit.

Lando Norris builds the team behind the vision

LN4 Fusion isn't Norris's project alone. It comes with an experienced leadership team. Rene Rosin, a motorsport veteran with more than 40 championship titles, will serve as Team Principal. Dan Hazlewood, who brings 25 years of international motorsport experience, will lead UK operations.

The LN4 Legacy Programme, a fully-funded driver development initiative operated by ADD Management and led by Julian Rouse, aimed at giving young talent the support Norris had on his own path to F1.

While talking to Formula One about the project, Lando Norris explained the importance of having the right people around him.

"I've been really lucky to have some amazing people around me throughout my career, and I know that getting to Formula 1 takes so much more than just talent," Norris told Formula One. "You need the right people around you, the right support and the right opportunities at the right time.

Between the team and the programme, Norris has built out both sides of the pathway he once relied on himself.
