A new feud has developed between Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch. Last week, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver made blunt comments about his former teammate not being able to figure out the Next Gen car, and hence the 100-plus-race winless.

The comments made by Hamlin on the "Actions Detrimental" podcast did not sit right with Busch, who called him out ahead of the Cup race in Kansas, and has done so again in a recent interview with Sean Hannity. Addressing the three-time Daytona 500 winner's comments, Kyle Busch said:

"We've had a couple minor ones (run-ins). He's got his own podcast, and he's been running his mouth lately, so he might get run into again. He’s been telling me that I’m washed up and I can’t drive anymore."

Before the race at Kansas on Sunday, Busch spoke to the reporters about Hamlin’s comments, saying, "If Denny wants to switch cars, I’ll switch cars with him any day of the week, any time. I would love for him to show me that he can carry it better than I can."

While Denny Hamlin's comments have not sat right with Kyle Busch, he has yet to prove the sentiment wrong with a long-awaited victory. The Richard Childress Racing driver has missed out on the past two playoffs, and he currently sits in 27th in the driver championship after nine races.

During their time as teammates at Joe Gibbs Racing, Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin have had their fair share of rivalry. The most infamous moment they shared came during the All-Star race in 2010.

During this race, Hamlin, who was leading the race towards the end, aggressively blocked Busch, which caused the latter to hit the wall and later puncture a tire and cause a race-ending wreck. After the race, Busch threatened Hamlin out of anger, but later backtracked on the comments, emphasizing he didn't mean what he had said.

Hamlin hit back with a cheeky message in a press conference a week later, saying (via the San Diego Union-Tribune):

"Each year, I think Kyle’s going to grow up, and he just doesn’t. Until he puts it all together, that’s when he’ll become a champion, and right now he just doesn’t have himself all together.”

However, Hamlin also reassured that apart from on the track, he shared a "good" relationship with Kyle Busch.
