Kyle Busch finally came forward to proudly admit how the confidence was building inside RCR’s workhouse that they could finally perform well, a feat that has largely escaped the team this year. Busch commented on the backdrop of his No. 8 team gaining momentum recently, sparking joy in the garage.

“Any time that you have positive mojo going, it’s just kind of like, it’s a good feeling,” Busch said. “It just kind of gives you that confidence of just like, okay, we’re doing our job.”

A large part of such a stressful situation is borne by the driver himself, and Busch was clear to point that out.

“When you’re not doing well, you’re like, well, what am I doing wrong?” Busch explained. “I’m doing everything I always would normally be doing. I’m sure the car chief, you know, I’m putting in what the engineers and the crew chief is telling me to put in there.”

Busch then jokingly summed up the frustration inside the garage by saying, “Obviously, it’s not working. So who’s the idiot here? Which one of us?”

The veteran was also quick to draw similarities between the current atmosphere in the garage and his championship years with Adam Stevens.

“The team doesn’t get too high on the highs, and they don’t get too low on the lows,” Busch said. “Do your job, keep your head down, keep focused, and just keep going.”

Commenting also on how RCR is operating right now, in an attempt to give us the latest update, Busch added, “That’s where I feel like our team right now with Clay and his leadership… they’ve always had that mindset of just let’s go, you know, we just got to do what’s next and keep focused forward.”

After all such comments, the question does arise, what new momentum is this veteran driver and team witnessing, and how does the road ahead look for them?

RCR is finally showing signs of life around Kyle Busch

Kyle Busch and RCR’s continued optimism have revived after the driver faced one of the toughest stretches of his career, going back to a winless streak of over 3 years. In 2026, Busch, in the first 10 races, had just a single top-10 finish and had fallen to 27th in points.

The reaction from RCR was prompt, replacing crew chief Jim Pohlman with veteran engineer Andy Street after Talladega. And it immediately worked as Busch earned another top-10 at Talladega and showed excellent speed at Texas (only to crash in the final moments) while finishing eighth at Watkins Glen.

And it was seen how much this matters to him, as he posted about this on Instagram, writing, "3 straight with T10 speed. Million bucks on the line this weekend. Let’s get keep it rollin.🤑"

Add to this, with races coming up at Dover and Charlotte, tracks that have long favored Busch’s driving style, his chances for more top-10 finishes or even podiums are now at an all-time high, bringing hope not just to the team but his die-hard fans as well.
