Kyle Busch's promising start to the Wurth 400 at the Texas Motor Speedway turned unfortunate in the final moments. The Richard Childress Racing driver, who started from the third row, gained places and looked great for a good finish until the last lap incident occurred. Speaking about it, Andy Street, Busch's new crew chief, shared his thoughts.

"I thought we were good," Street told the media after the race. We just lost so much track efficiency at that point. We kind of fell back to running that eighth, the 10th, the 11th place spot there."

Busch is going through a 105-race winless streak, and his drop in positions arrived amid this.

"At that point, there wasn't enough caution to try to make up anything. So we just kind of stuck back there. That last restart, I think we started to make some moves, got around a few people. Yeah, I kind of got hung behind the three for a couple laps there. And then went up and was trying to make some spots up. And I'm not real sure what happened off of two, to be honest with you. Maybe we might look at that," he further added.

Notably, Busch started the race from sixth place and went on to finish the race at the same position. Busch fell further behind in Stage 2 with a 13th-place finish and made further contact on the last lap with John Hunter Nemechek.

On Turn 2, Busch and Nemechek made contact that spoiled the ending for both of them. Nemechek was driving far outside when Busch squeezed in front of him with a slight nudge. Nemecheck didn't like this, and he immediately chased Busch to clash sideways with him, only to get the worst of it himself as he spun. Both of them extended their banter on X.

In the end, Busch came home in 20th place, ahead of John Hunter Nemechek and behind Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Chase Elliott of Hendrick Motorsports won the race, ahead of Denny Hamlin and Alex Bowman.

RCR changed Kyle Busch's crew chief for the third time in a year

Following the Talladega Superspeedway race, Richard Childress Racing changed the crew chief of Kyle Busch. Speaking about why the change was needed, here's what Richard Childress, the owner and CEO of Richard Childress Racing, said:

"This move is about putting our people in the best position to succeed. We have strong talent across this organization, and we’re focused on having each person in the right position to help deliver the results we expect.”

They replaced Jim Pohlman with Andy Street and put Pohlman within RCR after seeing no such improvements after 10 races. With this, the RCR changed Busch's crew chief for the third time in seven months.
