The late Greg Biffle has been named in As per reports, two new wrongful death lawsuits, each worth $15 million, have been filed in connection with the tragic crash in December last year, which killed seven people, including pilot Dennis Dutton and his son.

The Dutton estates filed the lawsuit earlier this week and asked for the amount in damages. The Dutton family alleged that Greg Biffle, who owned the aircraft, failed to ensure that the plane was properly maintained.

Per ESPN, the lawsuit's filing claimed that inadequate maintenance contributed to the crash. Dutton, who was the pilot at the time, was flying the plane alongside his son Jack as the copilot.

The Cessna 500 Citation II private jet crashed moments after taking off on December 18, 2025. The accident took place at the Statesville Regional Airport in North Carolina. As per reports, the plane erupted in a ball of fire soon after it hit the ground.

Everyone on board, including Greg Biffle, his wife, Cristina Grossu, daughter Emma, and son Ryder, passed away. The Dutton duo and NASCAR motorhome driver Craig Wadsworth, who was also on board, died.

The NTSSB has yet to share a final report after concluding its ongoing investigation.

Burglary at Greg Biffle's home linked to close aides

Days after Greg Biffle and his family's tragic death, his house was burglarized and looted. A new report claims that it might have been an 'inside job'. As per the local authority, the password bank account numbers were all changed to facilitate transactions.

"It is the belief of this affiant that a plan has been in place by friends of Gregory Biffle and strategically executed after the death of the Biffle family. This fraud appears to have been a strategic and coordinated strike against all accounts through multiple States which has resulted in hundreds of thousands of dollars being stolen," an Iredell County sheriff’s detective wrote in a search warrant application in March, per the Charlotte Observer.

The burglary took place on January 7, nearly three weeks after Biffle's death. Moreover, the suspicion was raised further as an anonymous email with a short, inappropriate message was sent to Biffle's account.

"Evidence shows this would have to have multiple conspirators that had access to and intimate knowledge of" the Biffles’ accounts, "as well as their personal identifying information, i.e. social security numbers, birthdays, passwords, etc. This leads the affiant to believe that a conspiracy has been in place for a long period of time to commit fraud against the Biffle family,” the statement further read.

Per ESPN, more than 40 search warrants have been issued. Reports confirmed that over $30,000 in cash, Greg Biffle's personal Glock handguns, and NASCAR memorabilia were taken from the safe. This would reportedly not have been possible if the suspects did not know the location of the security cameras and the safe hours of the house.
