Kyle Busch's sudden demise in May this year sent shockwaves throughout NASCAR. Family, close ones, and fans in general are yet to make peace with the fact that Busch, one of NASCAR's most successful drivers, is no longer among them.

While tributes are pouring in from everywhere for the driver, and deservingly so, a renowned NASCAR expert called in for a serious tribute to his name.

Tommy Baldwin Jr., the crew chief of Rick Ware Racing, recently shared an idea where he wanted a championship trophy to be named after the late driver. While speaking about it in the newest episode of the Door Bumper Clear podcast, he said:

"We have all these trophies named after people, right, in all the sports," he said. "We have a couple of them, but I would love to see the championship trophy, like the Truck championship trophy named after Kyle Busch, right?"

Notably, the demand to name the Craftsman Truck Series championship in Kyle Busch's name makes all the sense given the late driver was the most successful driver in this series. With 69 wins in 184 races, the driver from Las Vegas was nothing less than a beast.

His success in the series, even after moving to the Cup Series, eventually resulted in the 'Kyle Busch rule' in 2017, which limited the number of truck races a Cup Series driver can participate in. Nevertheless, his dominance in the Truck series become iconic. That's why Baldwin Jr. further added:

"I mentioned it a couple of shows ago after he passed, but everyone used to get so aggravated, even the fans would boom with his bow after the race. Right now, it's probably going to end up being one of the most iconic celebrations that will last forever."

Kyle Busch was a gifted racer and a pioneer in stock car racing. With two Cup Series championships as a driver and two Truck Series championships as a car owner, he also has a West Coast Hall of Fame under his belt.

One of the 75 Greatest NASCAR drivers, he has 63 Cup Series and 102 O'Reilly Auto Parts Series race wins to his name. With all of those accolades, the driver indeed received enormous tributes, and NASCAR planned to bring in one more at Charlotte up next.

Charlotte set for Kyle Busch tribute in October

NASCAR is preparing for a tribute to Kyle Busch in the upcoming Charlotte race weekend on October 9. As per a report on NASCAR.com, the tribute will take place on October 9 after the Truck Series race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.

It said, "The service will be free and open to the public, providing fans, members of the motorsports industry, friends and loved ones an opportunity to come together in remembrance and tribute to one of racing’s most influential and accomplished competitors."

Notably, Charlotte was the place where Kyle Busch breathed his last on May 21, days after he caught a cold, which formed into pneumonia and thereby transformed into sepsis. Although he was taken to the hospital, he did not survive.

Kyle Busch passed away at the age of 41. He is survived by his wife Samantha Busch and two kids, Brexton and Lennix Busch.
