NASCAR Insider Flags RFK’s Quiet Kansas Surge After Recent Success

NASCAR reporter Andrew Kurland predicts RFK Racing will be a quiet powerhouse at Kansas Speedway this weekend.

The organization arrives with momentum after sweeping three top 15 finishes at Bristol and showing significant improvement on intermediate tracks.

Their momentum was very clear in the latest Bristol Motor Speedway race, where all three RFK drivers finished in the top 15. Even after being faced with a spin and a late speeding penalty, team co-owner Brad Keselowski finished 14th, whereas Chris Buescher and Ryan Preece finished 13th and 8th.

RFK's potential at Kansas extends beyond its recent momentum.

Kurland pointed out that the team is even conquering tracks that used to be their biggest weaknesses, stating: "Chris Buescher saying, 'Watch out for RFK.' We struggled at Vegas last year—it was organizationally our worst race track—and they all finished within the top 11. And so now you go to Kansas, where RFK is already good and has a solid baseline. I feel like they're going to be quietly a very strong organization this weekend."

The team’s 1.5-mile oval track record speaks for itself. Brad Keselowski, the driver and co-owner of the team, has two wins at Kansas Speedway, in 2011 and 2019. Chris Buescher has five career top-10 finishes at this venue.

Ryan Preece, although he hasn’t had a strong record at the speedway yet, is still quite confident going into the weekend. While he has only one previous top-10 at Kansas, his recent improvement on intermediate tracks is putting the No. 60 team in a prime position.

RFK Racing is bringing new energy to the track this weekend with its new partnership with Kickstand Cocktails. Kansas will be their first race together as a sponsor. Ryan Preece will be seen in the new colors, driving the No. 60 Ford Mustang Dark Horse.

While Kansas Speedway hasn’t always been the best track for Preece, he is still very confident, and his confidence is supported by his statistics this season.

Ryan Preece said that the team has been very consistent this season and has regularly been in contention during race weekends. He added that over the past five to six weeks, there has been clear potential, and he has become more comfortable on 1.5-mile tracks.
