NASCAR Weather Update Nashville: Music City to See Another Rain-Struck Weekend?

NASCAR heads to Nashville Superspeedway this weekend with rain once again becoming a major concern. After weather disruptions heavily affected the schedule in Charlotte, forecasts now suggest that two of the three main race events in Music City could also face delays.

In Charlotte, weather disruptions canceled nearly all practice sessions, delayed the Truck Series race into Sunday, and shortened the NASCAR Xfinity Series race. The race at Nashville Superspeedway may face a similar threat.

Weather predictions for the race weekend at Nashville Superspeedway look slightly better for the Cup race, but the other two series may face some trouble from the weather.

Pit row is busy during the Cracker Barrel 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at Nashville Superspeedway in Lebanon, Tenn., Sunday, June 1, 2025.

There is a 24 percent chance of precipitation, with cloudy skies expected throughout the day, but the rain forecast does not appear to collide with the scheduled 7 p.m. ET start of the Cracker Barrel 400.

While daytime temperatures are expected to be around 83°F, the temperature is expected to drop after sunset to around 63°F. The track temperatures should be ideal for tire strategy, with less falloff expected under the lights at the 1.330-mile oval.

A postponement may cause scheduling issues if the weather does take a turn for the worse. The Superspeedway, however, has lights for night racing if NASCAR chooses to move the event to Monday evening, but TV broadcasts may be largely affected.

NASCAR Xfinity Series and Truck Races Face Rain Threat

The Truck race took a massive hit in Charlotte, and a similar result may be expected this Friday as well. The forecast looks gloomy for the Allegiance 200 on Friday evening, with a high chance of rain.

During the Truck race, which starts at 8 p.m. ET, the temperature is expected to be as high as 76°F, with a 53 percent chance of precipitation. Even with a delay, conditions do not look promising because the same 53 percent rain prediction continues late into the night after the scheduled finish.

In the NXS race, the situation is similar, with scattered thunderstorms expected across Tennessee on Saturday. There is a 62 percent chance of rain in the hours leading up to the race’s 7:30 p.m. start. During the race, that drops to 45 percent, while the same forecast continues later into the night.

For whatever amount of racing fans get to see during the Sports Illustrated Resorts 250 on Saturday, the temperature at peak race time is expected to be 75°F.

For fans attending the Cracker Barrel 400, carrying a raincoat is recommended.
