After his big crash during the NASCAR Cup Series race at the Michigan International Speedway, Christopher Bell is not at his best physically. Having fractured his left wrist, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver raced at Pocono with a cast on his hand.

On Saturday, ahead of the practice session in Pocono, Bell had revealed that it was a "normal broken bone" that didn't require surgery, and under normal circumstances, it would take around six weeks to completely heal.

Following this, Bell was asked about the medical plan for how he would manage the injury in the race on Sunday. However, he declined to reveal that and replied (via Cup Scene on YouTube):

"I'm probably not going to disclose that. So, I think we have a good plan in place and be treated. Yeah, I mean, I think we have a pretty good plan in place. That's what I'll tell you."

Bell shared that he had driven a road car since the incident and didn't have any problem doing that.

"But I will say I mean I haven't driven the car yet. I've driven a street car, and I feel fine driving a street car, doing normal stuff. So we'll learn a lot whenever I get out there in an hour or so," Bell further added.

During last week's FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway, Bell suffered a 63-G impact on the sidewall. As the crash took place, Bell's left hand was jammed against the bottom of the steering wheel, smashing his wrist.

However, doctors cleared Bell to race and participate in the upcoming NASCAR Cup races with the cast on his wrist.

Christopher Bell Rues Missed Opportunity at Pocono After Fuel Shortage

Christopher Bell missed out on a potential victory at Pocono after his No. 20 Toyota Camry XSE ran out of fuel during the Great American Getaway 400 at the Pocono Raceway. Having started the race from 22nd place, Bell was hovering around the bottom of the top 20 most of the race.

However, a late gamble to extend the fuel run paid off as he took the lead and went on to lead 18 laps. But in the waning laps, the strategic decision gamble backfired as the No. 20 Toyota ran out of fuel and tumbled down to 26th place by the time Bell reached the finish line.

"I mean, I didn't know what to think," Bell told Prime Video after the race. "I was just trying to stay open-minded and do my job inside of the car. Obviously, when they start telling me that we're getting good gas mileage and we are in good position, I'm starting to get excited in there, but just wasn't meant to be."

Christopher Bell's JGR teammate, Denny Hamlin, claimed the victory, marking his third win in a row. NASCAR Cup Series Championship leader, Tyler Reddick, finished in second place, while Hendrick Motorsports' William Byron came home in third place.
