"Post-Retirement Acting Career": Ryan Blaney's Acting Debut in Emmy-nominated Show Has Fans Buzzing

Ryan Blaney is known for his championship-winning performance on track as a racer. But he stepped into a different role off the track, taking up a performing art for Prime Video, leaving NASCAR fans excited.

The 2023 NASCAR Cup Series Champion recently made his acting debut in "Eli Manning Presents: The Undercovers." The series was nominated for Outstanding Edited Sports Series at the Sports Emmy Awards, and the official trailer for the latest installment involving Blaney was released on June 11.

In the teaser, the Team Penske driver took on the identity of an old British man named "Hamish Wimsley." He is seen donning a fake grey beard and sporting prosthetics that made him unrecognizable. And to add to the get-up, he is also seen carrying a walking cane.

In the short trailer released by Prime Video on their YouTube Channel, the No. 12 Ford driver was seen touring the Team Penske factory back in Mooresville, North Carolina. During the tour, he was seen interacting with Penske employees and the other people on the private tour.

Later in the video, Ryan Blaney makes a hilarious attempt to get into his car and, as the old man he plays, naturally fails to do so. The Team Penske driver was also seen going karting with the NASCAR fans in his disguise. However, he eventually revealed his identity.

This acting debut has left the NASCAR fans excited to see Blaney make his acting debut.

Under the post shared by a NASCAR fan on their Reddit account, several fans gave their reaction to Ryan Blaney’s 'Hamish' disguise. One fan wrote:

"Blaney pushing hard for that driver ambassador program title."

Another fan highlighted how Blaney has taken the off-track spotlight this week, saying:

"- NASCAR x Navy Mini Movie - George Russell/WhatsApp collab, - Farmers Pets collab - Eli Mannings Undercovers. Big week for the Blaney brand. Chasing that DAP bonus lol."

DAP bonus is an incentive-based payout system given to the drivers for actively promoting the sport through media appearances, community outreach, and digital engagement

The fans were not the only ones whom Ryan Blaney fooled. Before visiting the factory, he paid a visit to Scott McLaughlin, who also drives for Team Penske, but in IndyCar. McLaughlin took to his X account to share his reaction to Blaney’s disguise.

"I got caught out," the No. 3 Chevrolet driver wrote.

While several other fans shared their reaction on their X accounts. One fan wrote, "Was hilarious! Gonna have to name my next dog Hamish!"

Another fan expressed how much his cheeks hurt after laughing at McLaughlin’s reaction.
