Ryan Blaney would ideally be having fun with family and doing house chores to help his family out during the week off from NASCAR. While he is confident in being able to carry out a lot of the work around the house, it is maybe dealing with electrical issues where help might be needed.

Blaney had a scary situation that started his fear of dealing with electricity. After a race, when he once went to plug in the trailer in the connector, his finger fell on the cut in the cord. This caused him to have a shock, and the driver narrated the incident on Sirius XM Radio.

“I was frozen on this thing for probably five seconds, and then it threw me off of it," he said. "I was on my feet to my back like instantly, and as quick as I went to my back, I was up walking in circles like I had an energy, jolted, I didn’t know what happened, like it was so weird."

Blaney stated that his father saw him on the floor after he got an electrical shock.

"My dad saw me disappear when I hit the floor. And then I was up walking around. He’s like, ‘What happened?’ I was like, ‘I don’t know. I think I just got shocked.'" Blaney added. "I don’t want to touch that ever again. That was terrifying. Ever since then, I have a little bit of a, not a phobia for electricity, but I don’t like working with electricity very much,” 

The interviewers went on to question Blaney if there were any electricians in the area. However, he pushed back the idea of calling an electrician for smaller chores.

While enjoying the break would be one of the priorities, the NASCAR driver standings would also be on the back of his mind.

Ryan Blaney needs to continue racing the way he has

Seven races into the season, and Ryan Blaney sits in second place in the drivers’ championship. He is currently 82 points behind Toyota’s Tyler Reddick.  

Blaney won his first race of the season at Phoenix earlier this year. He is currently looking like one of the strong contenders for the championship fight this season, before the Chase Format begins in September. 

He already has the experience of winning a Cup Series title, which is something that will help him towards the business end. The next race in Bristol could be instrumental in the standings, as a win for Blaney could turn things around in his favor. However, Reddick does not seem like someone who is going to be beaten that easily at the moment.
