Ryan Blaney set to host unique celebrity guest show as NASCAR Studios joins hands
NASCAR Studios is set to launch an all-new four-part interview series with 2023 Cup Series champion Ryan Blaney as the host.
Releasing on July 1 on NASCAR’s official YouTube channel, the series, named "On The Gas with Ryan Blaney" — presented by BodyArmor Sports Drink - will air an episode on each of the first four Wednesdays of July, where Ryan Blaney will be interviewing unique celebrity guests.
The No. 12 Team Penske Ford driver will take guests around different circuits and ask questions during the adrenaline-filled ride. In the official announcement on NASCAR's website, Blaney said in a statement:
"Getting the chance to share what makes NASCAR so exciting with people from different worlds was a lot of fun. I think fans are going to enjoy seeing these big personalities experience the speed, competition, and culture of our sport up close."
"On The Gas with Ryan Blaney" will feature 20-minute-long episodes with guests like Keegan Michael Key, Chad Ochocinco, Westen Champlin, and The Stradman.
John Dahl, senior VP of original content, NASCAR, explained the intent behind the series, saying (via NASCAR.com):
"With NASCAR Studios and Full Speed Entertainment, we’re focused on creating original content that connects with fans in fresh and unexpected ways. On The Gas with Ryan Blaney delivers exactly that by pairing one of NASCAR’s biggest stars with guests experiencing the speed and intensity of our sport firsthand."
NASCAR’s decision to post all the episodes on its YouTube channel suggests the move was targeted not only to make the content more accessible to fans but also to garner new fan attention.
Is Ryan Blaney becoming the new face of NASCAR?
Ryan Blaney is currently third in the NASCAR Cup Series drivers' standings after 18 races, and still the only Ford driver to pick up a race win in 2026. While Blaney has been showing consistency on the track, he’s also quickly building up a handy entertainment resume.
Prime Video’s mini-film promotional ahead of the race in San Diego, "NASCAR vs. The Navy," featured Blaney as the leader among the NASCAR drivers featured. The Team Penske driver also recently appeared in "Eli Manning Presents: The Undercovers," where he was disguised as an old man among fans.
Blaney boasts a solid on-screen presence, and the new show should only reveal another side of his.
